Born in 1946 in Piraeus Greece, in a family of politicians and founders of the most popular Greek football team (Olympiakos FC)

He was educated at Athens College, and in the Schools of Political Science in Athens, Kent (UK), Cambridge and Oxford. He studied also Economics and Issues of Peace Research at the University of Oslo. He holds also a Diploma on Leadership from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.

He lectured at various Schools in the USA and England (Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, Wisconcin at Madison, George Washington, LSE) and he was a Visiting Scholar at St. Edmund's College, Cambridge. In 1998-99 he was Public Policy Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson Center, Washington DC. He holds two honorary PH.D. degrees and he was Professor of Public Policy at the American College of Greece.

He has been elected 9 times member of the Greek Parliament and he has served as Minister of Culture, Trade, Industry, Energy, Technology and Mass Communications.

He has also been elected Mayor of the City of Piraeus. He has contributed articles to numerous Greek and international journals and newspapers and has written books on Islam, Economic and Political Liberalization and Energy Security. Since he resigned from Parliament he held his own TV talk show, worked professionally as a newspaper commentator and as a consultant on issues of Caspian energy and political risk analysis for countries of the former Soviet Union and South Asia. He is currently leading a team of international consultants in advising the government of the Russian Federation, under the auspices of the EU, on free competition and the advocacy of liberal market reforms.

He is also the author of two historical novels on Medieval and Renaissance Europe.

He lives in Athens with his wife and his two young sons.

Fourlas Alexandros , CFA

Mr. Fourlas Alexandros joined Ernst & Young in 2001 and is an Executive Director in Project Finance Dept., based in Athens. He is responsible for providing financial services to the public and private sector in the context of financing and procuring Project Finance Initiatives (PFI's) and Public Private Partnerships (PPP's) in Greece and South East Europe.

He has also provided fund raising support to clients (from VC's) and worked in Mergers and Acquisitions. Alexandros has also gained specialization in Renewable Energy Sources (wind and PV's), Oil & Gas, and Power.

Prior to his current assignment, Alexandros worked for 7 years in the IPO's and Μ&Α's advisory in Sigma Securities, Piraeus Bank and Top Invest.

Alexandros is a CFA Charterholder since 2003, holds an MBA (1994) from Warwick Business School and an M.Sc. (1991) in Business Administration from the Athens University of Economics (ASOEE).

Stratos Goudinakos, a veteran floor trader, has been actively involved in Investment Banking and Asset Management for over 16 years.

Started out at London's LIFFE as an options market maker/Director of Investments, built and managed complex derivative portfolios (inter - intra volatility spread structures).On his return to Greece joined NBG Group, Head Derivatives & Proprietary Trading; managed the desks of market making, arbitrage and sales, set up an international prop desk and was also responsible for hedging the bank's bond book. In succession moved to NBG's asset management, Chief Investment Manager.Then, participated (partner) in the buyout of an investment company and its extensive restructuring; in addition, developed and started up Ulysses Global Macro Hedge Fund which invested mainly in high grade markets on currencies, bonds, stocks, indices and commodities. Currently, a member of the Global Investment Committee of Helios Capital Management; moreover, managing own assets, trading in international derivative markets.

Holds a Diploma in Chemical Engineering of Patras University in Greece, a DBA from Cardiff Business School University of Wales, and an MBA from CASS Business School of City University; also, holds certificates from TEE, SFA and the HCMC in Market Making & Asset Management.

Pietro Grassano is a Senior Sales Executive in JPMorgan Asset Management in Italy since 2002, and Head of Greek Sales since 2008, keeping his responsibility for some clients in Italy. Before that, he has been working with BNP Paribas Asset Management as Client Relationship Manager since Y2000. He spent beforehand four years in Andersen Consulting, where he was Management Consultant in the Finance practice from 1996 to 2000, following mainly banks. His working career starts in Brussels, Belgium, in 1995, as a specialty commodities trader. Pietro has a degree in Economics (DES, Discipline Economiche e Sociali) from Bocconi University in Milan.

Fokion Karavias is the General Manager of Global Markets, Institutional Asset Management and Services at EFG Eurobank-Ergasias S.A. Previously, he has been Deputy General Manager and Treasurer at Eurobank and Treasurer at Telesis Investment Bank.

During the period 1994-97, he worked in Citibank, Athens, responsible for derivative business in Greece. In 1991-93, he was at JPMorgan, New York, in the market risk management division.

Currently, he is a member of the Board of Directors at a number of Greek and international subsidiaries of EFG Eurobank-Ergasias S.A. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors at DIAS Portfolio Investments S.A., a closed-end investment fund listed in the Athens Stock Exchange.

Fokion Karavias holds a Diploma in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Master's and Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. He has published several papers on topics concerning his research. He was born in Athens in 1964

Steffen Kern is director for international financial market policy at Deutsche Bank, focussing on international financial market integration and cross-border regulatory convergence between the EU, the US and with countries in Asia and Latin America. Mr. Kern is a member of various official and industry advisory groups on international financial market regulation, and has published widely on the related issues. Prior to his current position he served as executive assistant to the CEO of Deutsche Bank Group, following eight years as senior economist for European financial market policy and integration.
He holds academic degrees in economics, politics, philosophy from the universities of Oxford (Great Britain) and Leuven (Belgium) and a PhD from Erasmus University Rotterdam (The Netherlands), and is a lecturer in international finance at the University of Mainz (Germany).

Koritsa Eleni

Ms. Koritsa joined Eurobank EFG in 1992 and is currently the General Manager of Eurobank EFG Asset Management. Prior to assuming this position, she was Deputy General Manager of the company, responsible for Business Development, Marketing and Sales. Before the establishment of the company she was a Director with EFG Eurobank Telesis Finance, responsible for Business Development within the Institutional Asset Management Division. She has also worked as a Senior Account Officer for Eurobank EFG's Treasury Sales Division. Prior to the EFG Bank Group, she was employed by the Bank of Greece and worked at the Monetary and Credit Policy Division, the Economic Research Division and the International Relations Division. Ms. Koritsa holds an MSc Degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the University of Athens.

Dr. Milton Nektarios is Associate Professor of Insurance at the University of Piraeus, Greece. He has served as Governor of the Social Insurance Organization (IKA) of Greece (1999 - 2004). In 2001 he established the Asset Management Company of Pension Funds and served as Chairman of the company from 2001 to 2004. During the period 1993 - 1999, he was CEO of Ethniki Insurance Company , while in the period 1993 - 1996 he served as Chairman of the Association of Insurance Companies of Greece. He has been employed as CEO of the brokerage company Northern Greece Securities S.A. at the Athens Stock Exchange (1991 - 1993). He holds a B.A. Degree from the Athens University of Economics and Business, and a Ph. D. Degree from Temple University (USA). His most recent book is : Pension Reform with Consensus and Transparency ( Athens, Papazisis, 2008).

Papadimitriou George is a Partner and leads the Central Southern European Financial Services and Risk Management Ernst & Young Advisory practice (20 Countries).

He is also leading the Advisory Services for E&Υ in Greece.

George has led numerous risk management projects across financial institutions in the region, including specifically a number of Basel II, MIFID and Solvency II related projects, as well as other projects on credit, market and operational risk working closely with Executive Management and BoD of leading banks in the region.

George is a CFA Charter holder (CFA), a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM), a Professional Risk Manager (PRM), a Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA) and a founding member and the Regional Director of the Professional Risk Manager's International Association in Greece.

George holds an MSc in Finance at the London School of Economics.

He is a regular speaker on Risk Management conferences and trainings in Greece and abroad.

Stavros Siokos,an established executive in the international banking market, has undertaken duties as Head of Deposits & Investment Management (Asset Management, Wealth Management, Private Equity, and Alternative Investments) in Piraeus Bank in April 2008. Mr. Siokos holds an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Patras, Greece, as well as a Master's degree in Computers and a Ph.D. in Operational Research from the University of Massachusetts, USA. For many years he served as Managing Director with Citigroup, London, where he was Worldwide Head of Sales regarding alternative stock exchange transactions, as well as head of the company's sales and acquisitions strategy teams, and head of the development and products strategy team for all pension funds and insurance companies in Europe. Mr. Siokos is also the author of many academic papers and several books.

Dr Tessaromatis is General Manager and Chief Investment Officer at EDEKT Asset Management and a Professor of Finance at ALBA Graduate Business School. EDEKT manages pension fund portfolios on behalf of IKA-ETAM.

Dr Tessaromatis has spent several years in the City Of London at senior portfolio management positions. Before his return to Greece, he was Principal and Head of Research and Product Development at Gartmore Investment Management, the investment management subsidiary of National Westminster Bank. He was responsible for the development of all structured investment products, including global tactical asset allocation, global bond and currency strategies, quantitative stock selection and market neutral and dynamic asset allocation strategies. He was a member of the Fixed Income executive and strategy committees. Before Gartmore, he was Senior Quantitative Analyst at Hermes Investment Management (the investment manager for the British Telecom and Post Office pension funds).

He has been lecturer in Finance at Warwick Business School and director of the ETBA-NatWest mutual fund company. He is Honorary Research Fellow at Cass Business School.

Dr Tessaromatis studied at the Aristotles University of Thessaloniki (BA in Economics), the Open University in the UK (BA in Mathematics and Statistics), the University of Exeter (MA in Finance and Investments) and Manchester Business School (PhD in Finance)

Dr. Dimitris G. Tsibanoulis was born in Volos/Greece and graduated from the University of Athens (LL.B., 1980) and the University of Frankfurt am Main (Ph.D., 1986, summa cum laude). He is an Academic Tutor at the University of Frankfurt am Main (1983-1985), Assistant at the Max-Planck-Institute, Department of History of Law, and at the University of Frankfurt am Main (1985-1987).
He was admitted to Athens Bar in 1983 and to the Supreme Court in 1995 and since 1996 he is Managing Partner of the Law Firm Tsibanoulis & Partners (www.tsibanoulis.gr). He is a Member of the European Financial Markets Lawyers Group, operating under the auspices of the ECB (1999-), the EU-Clearing and Settlement, Legal Certainty Group (European Commission, 2005-), the Payment Systems Government Expert Group (European Commission, 1994-2005), the Legal Task Force on Payment Systems and FLEX/ Financial Law Experts Group (EMI/ECB) (1994-2002).
He has also been of Member of the Board of Directors of KEPE (Center of Planning and Economic Research) (1995-2001); Board of Directors of Hellenic European Law Association (FIDE-Greece, 2002-); Board of Directors of European Society for Banking and Financial Law/AEDBF, 2004-) and the legal Advisor to the Republic of Cyprus on the implementation of the European capital markets legislation (2001-2004).

Mr.George Tzanetatos is the president of Tzanetatos Capital Management LLC, a Chicago based boutique trading operation. It provides private and institutional alternative investments capital asset management through global macro strategies specializing in the financial and commodity futures global capital markets to investors worldwide.

The firm is a registered Commodity Trading Advisor ("CTA") and Commodity Pool Operator ("CPO") with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and is a Member of the National Futures Association (NFA).Mr. Tzanetatos grew up on the island of Cephalonia, Greece. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Economics (1982) and an MBA in Finance (1986) from DePaul University in Chicago.

He has been involved in the futures industry since 1982. He began his career in Chicago on the floor of the International Monetary Market (IMM). He became Member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) and was appointed Vice President for Merrill Lynch Futures.

He developed currency forecasting and applied analytical and quantitative techniques that offered institutional clients integrated solutions for macro global portfolio futures trading, synthetic exposure and hedge risk management. He went independent and founded in 2000 his firm, Tzanetatos Capital Management LLC. Mr. Tzanetatos is a member of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and participates on the board of various non- profit organizations. He is also an avid collector of contemporary art.

Zimbidis Alexandros, Ph.D.

Topic of Presentation: The Role of Liability Modeling in Pension Fund Asset Management

Dr. Zimbidis has received a first class degree in Mathematics from the University of Athens, Master of Science (MSc) with distinction and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Actuarial Science from the City University of London. He is a Full Member of the Hellenic Actuarial Society. He worked as a Director in a large multinational insurance company and has been appointed as the first President to the National Actuarial Authority in Greece from 2003 up to 2005. Additionally, he has prepared a lot of actuarial studies with respect to :
  • Corporate and occupational pension funds in the private sector or in the area of Social Security System
  • Requirements of the International Accounting Standards and the relevant pension accounting rules
  • Special Funds, as the Athens Stock Exchange Member's Guaranteed Fund.
He has published original research papers to international scientific journals and conferences while has written five university books with subjects related to Actuarial Science. Currently, he is a lecturer of Stochastic Analysis with applications to Insurance and Finance at Athens University of Economics and Business.
